Our routes run from the airport corridor on the east side out through Walker and Wyoming to Holland and Zeeland on the lakeshore. If the building is commercial and it is in greater Grand Rapids, we can get to it.
After the winter
Getting the salt back out of your floors
Every West Michigan building collects the same thing between November and March. Salt comes in on shoes, tracks down the corridors, and settles into whatever it lands on.
In carpet it works down into the pile, where vacuuming will not reach it, and holds moisture against the fibre. On hard floors it abrades the finish until the shine goes flat and grey, usually worst in the ten feet nearest each entrance.
Spring is when to deal with it. A great deal of our Grand Rapids work is seasonal for exactly this reason.
Carpet extraction
Our dual-stage process pre-treats and agitates to release what the winter drove into the pile, then hot-water extracts to pull it out rather than pushing it deeper.
Strip and re-wax
Where salt has gone through the finish, the fix is to take the old finish off, clean the substrate, and lay down fresh seal and finish coats. Scheduled after hours so the floor is walkable by morning.
